Challenge
Design a new DEX trading page for RabbitX, targeting advanced, self-employed traders in their mid-to-late 20s with deep DeFi and tech knowledge. They crave user experiences on par with CEX giants like Binance and DydX, with access to desired markets, leverage, and top-notch customer support.
My Experience WITH Aracari Apps FOR THE PAST 6 YEARS
Competitor Analysis: I dissected leading CEX interfaces like DydX, Binance, ByBit, and BitGet, identifying both primary and secondary features crucial for advanced traders. This included Trading View, Orders, Market/Limit/Stop positions, Margin Ratio, Deposits/Withdrawals, and Order Book.
User-Centered Design: Prioritizing the user's preferences for a CEX-like feel, I eliminated clutter and optimized information architecture. My focus was on:
Streamlined Layout: Following UCD principles, I designed a grid prioritizing primary features followed by secondary ones, ensuring easy information scanning and quick action.
Wireframing with Purpose: Each feature met essential user needs for efficient market tracking, order placement, position monitoring, margin management, and swift deposits/withdrawals. Unnecessary elements were ruthlessly culled for maximum ROI and reduced cognitive load.
Visual Design
Moodboard Inspiration: I crafted two distinct visual concepts, including a light mode option, drawing inspiration from successful CEX/DEX aesthetics for colors, typography, and general interface style.
Reusable Component Library: High-fidelity wireframes paved the way for a custom component library, ensuring design consistency, scalability, and easy future improvements.
